Samsung Might Ditch Compact Model in Galaxy S26 Lineup

Samsung Galaxy  flagship S line series have received significant hype among both android users and even IOS fans due to its compact size but powerful performance, innovative features, high-resolution Super AMOLED displays and advanced camera systems, flagship status and cutting edge technology. With the release of every new S line model, they have created a loyal fan base who are anticipated to get the latest version in their hands.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 models  have already generated significant buzz, and are expected to be unveiled in early months of 2025, likely during Samsung’s Unpacked event. However there are major rumours that company may change to its lineup by omitting the S26 compact flagship phone, most specifically its vanilla model. As a result, the market will only see the S26+ and S26 Ultra variants.

Why Compact Galaxy S26 may get Cancelled?

The rumour is that Chinese brands are much better at making small-sized mobile phones than Samsung and Apple, and it is said Samsung fears that these new base models can’t compete with these Chinese brands. Thus, Samsung is trying to mellow down the effect by making adjustments in their production and launch by altogether omitting the base model of S26 series.

Has this happened before?

Yes, it is no secret that Samsung has already done something similar to its flagship tablet line this year. Only the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra were launched, with the base model getting completely omitted from the series. And now the new rumour claims the same could happen to the Galaxy S26 series in 2026.

It’s worth noting that these reports remain unconfirmed. The tech world is always filled with rumors and speculations, and plans can shift rapidly. Samsung has yet to address these rumors directly, leaving us to watch and wait for official word on the future of their compact flagship lineup.
