Samsung is now ready to launch their first-ever XR headset.
A new report from Korea says that we don’t have to wait much longer to get Samsung’s new and first XR headset. Let’s take a look at the launch date, price, and availability details of Samsung’s upcoming XR headset.
In December 2024, Google and Samsung announced Project Moohan, their first XR headset. Along with the launch of the Galaxy S25, the South Korean tech giant showcased the headset, and in a recent earnings call, the company revealed plans to launch it by the end of this year.
According to the data reports from Korea, Samsung will launch its first XR headset at the next Galaxy Unpacked event on 29 September 2025. Well, now we have another confirmation about it, as well as information about its price and availability.
According to NewsWorks, Samsung will launch its first XR headset at the next Galaxy Unpacked event, which will take place on 29 September 2025. The publication states that the brand will make the headset available to purchase first in its home country, South Korea, on 13 October 2025, and gradually in the rest of the markets. Also, the reports claim that Samsung will price the product between 2.5 and 4 million South Korean won (approximately $1,800 to $2,000), making it cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro. Maybe in India, the product cost will be a bit higher because of the taxes we charge on foreign products—maybe between ₹175,000 to ₹250,000 INR.
Lastly, NewsWorks says that Samsung aims to ship around 100,000 units of its first XR headset this year. In comparison, Apple managed to ship around 224,000 units of the Vision Pro last year.
Samsung’s Project Moohan is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, has two micro OLED displays with a 90Hz refresh rate, 12 cameras, an external battery pack, and Google’s Android XR.
