As we all know, almost every brand has launched foldable phones in the past few years, but Apple hasn’t—until now. Many people speculated that this was because the company lacked the courage or confidence to build such a device. However, the wait is almost over. Reports say that Apple is nearly ready to announce its first-ever foldable phone in 2026.
There hasn’t been much information about its design yet, but in the latest instalment of the Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman revealed that it will be very thin and resemble “two iPhone Air devices stuck together.” This suggests the device will be slim, strong, and easy to carry—though still thicker than the Pixel 10 Pro and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Expected Features of the iPhone Fold
Reports indicate that the iPhone Fold will come with a 7.8-inch main display and a 5.5-inch cover display, both using a flexible OLED panel developed by Samsung.
While specific display details and full specifications haven’t been officially released, it’s assumed that Apple and Samsung are working together as partners to launch this smartphone. Tech analysts also suggest that the device will feature a rear dual-lens camera setup and a single front-facing selfie camera. In terms of security, it could become one of the most secure smartphones in history.
Expected Price of the iPhone Fold
The iPhone Fold, expected to be the “future king of smartphones,” will likely have a premium price range, around $2,000 (approximately ₹1.76 lakh). This will put it in direct competition with foldable phones from Google, Vivo, and Samsung.
Availability
The launch is expected in the last months of 2026. We’ll have to wait for official updates and confirmations from Apple.
